Jim DeFrank, Vice President & General Manager, Application Hosting
Jim leads Mentora's Application Hosting Services and provides technical consulting and direct support for Testing. He is a subject matter expert in all facets of Information Technology including systems engineering, network operations, application load balancing, firewall and IDS deployment, application and database architecture and support, and security assessments.
Jim has 21 years technical and leadership experience as systems and network administrator, DBA, sales engineer and data center operations manager. Jim designed and implemented data center operations in Northern Virginia for numerous companies and specializes in Internet based application delivery.
Jim has designed local and wide area networks and Internet/Intranet environments for companies such as; JVC, Proxicom, Metrocall, Associated Credit Bureau, The Sporting News, Telebank and Canopy Systems.
Jim has a degree in Administrative Security from the Community College of the Air Force and, during his 14 years in the military, graduated from the Security Police Academy, Non-Commissioned Office Leadership School and the Non-Commissioned Officer Academy. He holds certifications from the Computing Technology Industry, Cisco, Microsoft, Check Point and Novell.

Dan Downing, Vice President & Principal Consultant, Testing Services
Dan leads Mentora’s Testing Services. He provides general management, principal consulting, and coordination with Application Hosting.
Dan is a subject matter expert in load testing, a practice he established in 1997, creating the 5-Steps of Load Testing methodology initially taught at Mercury Interactive. He is a frequent presenter at Software Quality conferences such as STAREAST/WEST, STPCon, HP Software Universe, and Workshop on Performance and Reliability, for which he is currently one of the organizers. He has led enterprise load testing projects for manufacturing, healthcare, communications, ecommerce, software, scientific and non-profit organizations such as AT&T Wireless, Tyco, SunGard, March of Dimes, National Institutes of Health, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Harvard Risk Management Foundation, HealthNet, Boston Medical Center Health Plan, K-Mart, J&R Electronics, Sharp USA and Kinko's.
Dan has more than 25 years technical and leadership experience as programmer, sales engineer, product manager, senior manager, and consultant, in technology and healthcare companies such as Ingres, Project Software & Development, Kendall Square Research, AppGenesys, Fresenius Medical Care, Private Healthcare Systems, and Tufts Health Plan.
Dan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and did graduate-level work in Computer Science at Boston University.

Kathryn Saunders, President & Chief Operating Officer
Kathryn provides business leadership across Mentora lines of business. She also leads Mentora’s marketing and PR initiatives.
She serves as a Principal Consultant, applying her technology and management expertise to plan, organize, and execute complex IT projects involving cross-functional teams that combine elements of strategy, planning, business prioritization and project management. Her experience includes implementing the Oracle Applications eBusiness suite, integrated healthcare systems, remote claims processing systems, employing Conference Room Pilots, Model Offices, User Acceptance Testing and collection and analysis of quality metrics. As a consultant Kathryn has managed IT systems deployments in the finance, healthcare, petroleum, manufacturing and entertainment industries.
Kathryn has held IT management positions in technology and enterprise companies including AppGenesys, Private Healthcare Systems, Cumberland Farms, GSX and Prudential Insurance Company.
Kathryn holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hamilton College, NY, and has completed technical and professional courses in financial planning, project management and leadership. She is certified in ITIL methodology.

Susan Tutor, Vice President, Administration
Susan manages Mentora’s business operations encompassing administration, accounting and finance, contracts, human resources and insurance. Susan’s business experience includes operations and general management positions in technology services companies where she has established and managed business processes for account management, contracts, financial planning and human resources programs.
In a 21-year US Air Force career, she held positions as commander, executive officer, operations officer and inspector in Command, Control, Communications and Intelligence Operations.
Susan has a Master of Science Degree in Behavioral Psychology from Troy State University, AL. She completed an Executive Development Program with Georgia Institute of Technology and has completed business, leadership and international business partner courses in university programs and the military.
